About Quan The Poet
Quan The Poet is a black queer poet born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His love for poetry grew as a means to express himself dealing with the difficulties of being openly gay at a young age. He self-published his poetry book “The Struggle” in 2019, has performed at local open mics and slams. He was a featured poet at the 2020 Pan African Film Spoken Word Festival and Healthy Housing Foundation Slam. He is also an alum of SLAM LA and works with the organization as a teaching artist. He uses poetry to bring healing and hope to all LGBTQ youth to be themselves and live in their truth.
